ROTARY CLUB Featured guests for the Jan. 9 Rusk Rotary Club meeting at the Southern Cherokee Federal Credit Union were some outstanding seniors at Rusk Independent School District. Eddie Harris and Elizabeth Guinn. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit with Rusk's finest then this past week's meeting would have been a great opportunity to do so. Eddie keeps busy playing safety on the football team, post on basketball and don't forget track. He has applied to Kilgore Jr. College and Stephen F. Austin and hopes to major in business. Elizabeth has served in several roles including vice-president, president and secretary of the national honor society and student council. But despite her busy schedule she still has found the time to be senior class representative in the Key Club - all while racing to be the next valedictorian for Rusk High. She has also applied to several colleges including University of Texas, College of William and Mary, University of Virginia and the University of Notre Dame to pursue her major in business management. After lunch with "tomorrow's promise" the Rotarian's discussed the future plans for the club to better serve the community. Persons who would like to learn more about Rotary or attend the weekly luncheon meeting are invited to contact Rusk president, Joe Dorries at (903) 941-8295 or on-line at JPDorries@ aol.com. |
