ERVIN THOMAS BEARD

Graveside service for Ervin Thomas Beard, 80, of Crockett, was at 10 a.m. Monday at the New Energy Cemetery with the Rev. Ottis Byers and Ron Gandy officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Callaway- Allee Funeral Home.

Mr. Beard died Friday. He was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Houston County and was a lifetime Crockett resident. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a retired rancher.

Survivors are his wife, Nelda Beard of Crockett; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and James Horton of Grapeland, Janice and Chuck Poteet of Crockett, Karen and Irvin Bruening of Huntsville and Lydia and Steve Wolfe of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ava Tiller of Latexo and Ducky and R.T. Gandy of Crockett; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Billie Jean Beard of Crockett; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. and two special care givers, Larry Beard and Victor Poteet, both of Crockett.
