The Rusk Volunteer Department had responded by Jan. 22 to 10 calls this month. Three of these were in the city, one being an accident and the other three were to the assist East Texas Medical Center ambulance. The other seven calls were county calls, four were for accidents and the other three were fires.

The fire department consists of people from all walks of life. Some work for the city, county and state while others are carpenters, electricians and small business owners. We appreciate all who volunteer their time to the department.
