JAMES (BUTCH) REID

Funeral for James (Butch) Reid, 55, of Alto, was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hilltop Baptist Church with the Rev. David Darst and the Rev. Josh Lindsey officiating.

Burial was in Lynches Chapel Cemetery under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Reid died Jan. 18. He was born Feb. 1, 1951, in Houston to C.E. (Shots) and Mary Reid. He was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Alto Masonic Lodge. He lived in Alto for 36 years. He worked for Cherokee County Precinct 2 for 23 years as a machine operator.

Survivors are his parents, C.E. (Shots) and Mary Reid of Alto; his wife, Sharon Reid of Alto; and a son, Charley Reid of Huntsville.

Pallbearers were Tommy (Diller) Selman, Al Lemons, Bodie Colwell, Lane Fraezell, Buck Chapmon and Kevin Pierce.
