MACK DOVER Funeral for Mack Dover, 77, of Maydelle was at 11 a.m., Saturday, in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland and the Rev. Kevin Gentry officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Dover died Jan. 10. He was born April 19, 1929, in Alto to the late Meredith David Washington and Sybil Whitten Dover. He was a lifelong resident of Maydelle and a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from AMPI after 35 years as a truck driver. He was a former Maydelle school board member and served in the Korean War. Preceding him in death were his wife Corine Dover on Sept. 27, 2000; a son, Bobby Wayne Dover July 4, 1961; a grandson, Jacob Elijah Clark Dec. 24, 2000; three brothers, Thomas Dover, David Dover and George Dover; a sister, Myra Jane Dover Fulton; three brothers-in -law, Stuart Shuptrine, Doyle Bingham and Wayne Alexander. Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Kay and Billy Ray Goff and Barbara Ann and Mickey Singletary all of Maydelle and Rebecca and Alan Kirby of Mount Hope; a brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Ann Dover of Lufkin; three sisters, Bonnie Shuptrine of Kingsville, Mae Beth Bingham of Maydelle and Mozelle Alexander of Rusk; three sisters-inlaw, Joyce Dover and Margaret Dover, both of Maydelle and Nita Dover of Rusk; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Zachary Clark, Jeremiah Clark, Aaron Dement, Jeremy Singletary, Brandon Knight and Dale Dover. Honorary pallbearers were Dwain French, Joe French, George Clark, Jim Dover and Jimmy Watson. |
