LIONS CLUB

President Sonny Adams opened the meeting with the recognition of guests, Kayla Ballew, Alyssa Ballew, Elizabeth Oliver and Kathryn Keeling. He showed the Rusk High School Leo Club banner which will be presented to the Leo Club at a Lion's Club meeting in the near future.

Mr. Adams asked Amy Derrington to give the club a report on Ricky Herring to whom a special offering was given to aide him in his cancer treatment. She said that she wished the entire club could have been there when he received the offering. Another donation was given to send to him. Ms. Derrington also told the club that Greg James Country Motors is sponsoring a blood drive on Wednesday, Jan. 17, which will be open to the public from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. at their location on U.S. Highway 69 S in Rusk. The Stewart Regional Blood Center donor coach will be located in the front parking lot. The club will participate in the 20th Annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest which is entitled "Peace Around the World." Charlie Burfoot introduced his son Chuck Burfoot who presented the program about products from Arbonne International. This is a form of Network Marketing, and Chuck is a consultant. Francine Herrington of Rusk is also a consultant of Arbonne Network Marketing.
