I wonder why our school system can't be fixed. We live in America where we can do anything if we put our minds to the task. I talk to teachers and they say they are overloaded with work. I talk with kids and they say they have too many subjects to study. I believe that to be true on both counts. So what is the problem? More ... We would like to say "thank you" to the Cherokeean Herald for printing our anniversary announcement and for publishing the obituary for Kenneth Acker. I would also like to commend Leland Acker for the column written in memory of Kenneth. I know he writes great columns, but this one on Aug. 15 was so perfect, so sweet and touching. More ... I just returned from a threeweek trip to Wichita, Kan, and I wanted to express my appreciation to you for putting the Cherokeean Herald online. I enjoy keeping up with my community, and I was able to do so via the Internet even from so far away. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. More ... |
