This truly is one of my favorite times of year. Football season starts Friday. In my family, football is not just a sport to watch, it's family time. During the Rusk Eagle broadcasts this year, I plan to have my wife help keep stats. My daughter hopes to be able to sneak into a press box or two. More ... Are you ready for the change of seasons? Yep, it's football all right and the athletes are ready. Practice has been going on for a couple of weeks, marked by several scrimmage sessions. The air is filled with excitement. This month had been marked for possible good news in the operation of the Texas State Railroad. More ... The dust is beginning to settle along El Camino Real after all the hustle and bustle on Monday getting the kids off to the first day of school. I for one am proud to see things start settling back into a regular routine. When the wife and kids are back in school, a certain sense of freedom enters my life just in time for hunting season.
