GRAPHIC: CHEROKEEAN HERALD Frequent rainfall has contributed to good hay growth, however it has hampered harvesting efforts.

Cherokee County Extension Agent René Mc- Cracken told hay producers not to worry during Saturday's edition of "The Tailgate News" on KWRW 97.7 FM.

Mrs. McCracken told producers that not all hay had to be harvested in order to reap the benefits of fertilization and suggested ranchers let livestock graze hay pastures.

"Your cow is a more efficient harvester than your tractor," Mrs. McCracken said.

Tailgate News airs on KWRW-FM Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. after "Talk Time."
