      Rusk Eagle baseball/ softball camp slated The Rusk Eagle baseball/softball camp has been scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, June 4-8 at Rusk High School. Emphasis will be placed on hitting, throwing and running. Radar guns will be used to assess throwing speed and campers will be able to see themselves on video to make any corrections needed to become a better player.

County commissioners change meeting date because of holiday

      Cherokee County Commissioners made plans Monday morning to meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, rather than the regular meeting time on May 28. The meeting date was changed because the Memorial Day holiday falls on May 28.

CCT's TNT camp to include teenagers

      This year, Cherokee Civic Theatre's annual TNT summer youth camp is expanding to serve high school students with its TNT PM program. "We have a number of young people who have grown up through TNT who are now entering high school," said camp Executive Producer Debra Petri.
