When did it become illegal to walk on public streets?
      I am writing this letter to let the people of Alto know that within the last few weeks two police officers have stopped my 70 year old mother in Alto not once but twice. On March 23 officer James Green stopped my mother and informed her that she wasn't allowed to leave her home and be on the streets walking or driving and all she was doing was taking care of her own business at that time.

Will Lake Fastrill flood historic sites?
      Are there unique historical sites that would be flooded out if Fastrill Reservoir is built? I know La Salle's grave is around Alto somewhere, but since he followed Indian trails in much of his exploration, would there be an Indian village site or Indian graveyards along U.S. Highway 21 near the Neches?

Easter coverage appreciated
      We appreciate that you mentioned the Wells Community Sunrise Easter Service. We had Patricia Sonnier, from the Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Ark., do a full costume presentation of "He is Risen" with area musicians providing the accompaniment for the service.
