5th graders participate in contest
      Local fifth graders joined thousands of students nationwide as participants in the National Arbor Day Foundation Poster Contest. Local sponsors of the contest are the Texas Forest Service, Stephen F. Austin State University Mast Arboretum and Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

Rusk High School history projects on display at Heritage Museum

      History came alive in American History classes at Rusk High School as the students of Adam Nimitz participated in a history fair by building reconstructive displays depicting a part of World War II. The projects depicted a number of events in the war, from the invasion at Normandy, to the building that Anne Frank's family hid in.

      Eagle Cards can be purchased for $10 from any member of the Rusk High School Junior Class. The Eagle Card is a discount card that is good for one year. Profits from the sale of the Eagle Cards are used for the junior-senior prom. For more information call Rusk High School at (903) 683-5401.
