Doug Jordan Relays turn into District 18-3A roundup
Rusk Eagles and Lady Eagles take on five district opponents; Carthage wins boys, JV boys division and Diboll wins girls division
      Rusk High School held an invitational track meet last Thursday and the 18-3A District Meet broke out. With five district opponents and the defending boys and girls’ meet champions in attendance, the 24th annual Doug Jordan Relays went off without a hitch.

Lady Eagle softball wins district openers over Diboll, Hudson; Eagle baseball gets first district win since April 11, 2008
      The song lyric says, “sisters are doin’ it for themselves.” Last Friday night, sisters did it for the Rusk Lady Eagles as well as they came back from a one-run deficit in the final inning to pick up a 3-2 win over Hudson in their second district game.

3 Rusk powerlifters to state meet; 9 Eagle basketball players named to all-district team
      Three Rusk powerlifters – John Trotter, Reggie Dickson and Winona McGowan – all advanced to the state powerlifting meet after strong performances at the regional meet, held in Rusk and Forney. Trotter finished second in the 242-lb. weight class, lifting a total of 1,465 pounds for the event. He finished second to Josh Webster of Liberty-Eylau High School.
