Alto City Council meets tonight New council members to be sworn in, gas line bids to be reviewed BY LELAND ACKER The regular May meeting of the Alto City Council will be at 6 p.m., tonight, at city hall on SH 21 west, with the swearing in of new council members beginning at 5:30 p.m. Items on the agenda include discussion and action on bids for gas line repairs at the Alto Housing Authority. The current gas lines are constructed of PVC pipe, which gets brittle and breaks easily when city crews attempt to maintain the lines. Other items on the agenda include: approving accounts payable, cleaning the tanks at Mill pond, constructing a doorway in the hallway behind city offices for security reasons, discussion and action on the pipeline safety program, a change to the sewer grant resolution, the auction of a red dodge truck and discussion and action on bids for the mowing of city property. The 11-item agenda includes department reports and a public forum for those who wish to address the council. The Alto City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of every month at city hall. |
