Rusk basketball teams travel to Carthage tonight

Eagles look for first win, Lady Eagles conclude season

The Rusk Eagle and Lady Eagle basketball teams travel to Carthage tonight to face the Bulldogs. Sub-varsity action begins at 5 p.m., with the girls JV, girls varsity and boys varsity playing in the main gymnasium. The JV and freshmen boys will play in a practice gymnasium.

The Rusk Eagles will look for their first district win of the season against a Bulldog team that is 16-8, 8-3 in district. Carthage is ranked second in District 20-3A. The Eagles have a record of 8-17, 0-11 in district. The Eagles will take the floor in the main gymnasium at approximately 7 p.m.

The Rusk Lady Eagles are 8-19 on the season, 2-11 in district. The Lady Eagles have won their first district games in almost two years this season, but they face a powerhouse Carthage team. The game will begin at approximately 6 p.m.
