Rusk shot putter, Alto relay teams compete for gold
      Athletes from Rusk and Alto competed well at the state track meet in Austin, but all came short of striking gold. Rusk's Quinn Anthony competed in the shot put event, placing eighth with a shot of 50 2.75. Meanwhile three Alto relay teams ran for glory at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Jackets down Lovelady in 2 games
Alto Lady Jackets knock-off Mt. Enterprise
      Alto's bats fired up in the second inning to give the Jackets a huge 8-0 advantage en route to an 11-1 victory over Lovelady in five innings at Morris Frank Park in Lufkin Friday. Alto's run was capped off by a three-run homer by freshman Rhett Gresham.

Alto track stars run at state
     PHOTOS: ROBERT HAHN Alto's 4x100-meter relay team of Javante Jones, Demarcus Griffin, Brandon Thacker and Devon Patton took third place in the state track meet held in Austin Friday. The team finished the 400-meter race in 43.77 seconds.
