Students will show their original art creations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 27-April 25

Show will at Breakers restaurant located at 5106 Old Bullard Road in Tyler

TYLER, Tx — One hundred or so Northeast Texas students are expected to show up with their original art creations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 27 at Breakers restaurant located at 5106 Old Bullard Road in Tyler where the art will be on display through April 25. The 5th-10th graders are entering the eTX Student Art Contest produced annually by the TEXAS Natural Wellness ExpoTM to support and inspire creative arts in East Texas and in particular to inspire young people to artistically and uniquely express what it means — from their point of view — to make healthy choices. The students are invited to submit artwork that relates to the theme of health and wellness for people, pets, or the environment

A panel of art professionals will judge the contest April 16 overseen by the contest curator, P.A. Geddie, publisher of County Line Magazine. The winners are announced at 10:45 a.m. April 17 on the main stage during the TEXAS Natural Wellness ExpoTM held at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler.  The winning art pieces will be featured in area publications and on the cover of the AT&T Real Yellow Pages directory.

After April 25, the winning entries will be sent to the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) in Austin for a three-month exhibition. TCA is located next to the state capital building and is holding a “healthy arts” exhibit May through August this year.
