      The Cherokee Civic Theatre is getting ready for another summer of fun with their Thespians N Training (TNT) summer camp. This is the fifth year for CCT to host the camp. Producers are Judy Faye Garner and Debra Petri.

Church plans homecoming May 25
      Homecoming activities are planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, May 25 at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church. An offering will be taken at the conclusion of the service for the maintenance of the cemetery. A covered dish luncheon will be served at noon in the church fellowship hall.

      The Rusk Rotary Club will hold its annual Memorial Golf Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham Forest Golf Course. The format is a four-person scramble. The entry fee is $50 per person and includes lunch and two mulligans.

TDCJ's Skyview-Hodge employees honored, appreciated at luncheon
      Skyview and Hodge Unit employees took center stage May 7 as the honored guests at an appreciation luncheon. The cost of the event was underwritten by Rusk philanthropist and Citizens 1st Bank CEO Jim Perkins. TDCJ Warden Todd Foxworth presented a hand-carved wooden plaque to Mr. Perkins.
