HOUSING ASSISTANCE The City of Rusk received a grant for Owner-Occupied Housing Assistance through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. If you answered "yes" to the following questions, then you meet the basic eligibility requirements for assistance under the HOME Program. 1. Do you own your own home? 2. One meeting will be held at 3:00 pm and another at 6:00pm. Topics to be discussed include how to qualify for this program, available funding and eligible activities. Assistance with review of requested documents and completion of the application will be available to those who attend this meeting. Applications must be turned in at City Hall, 205 S. Main, Rusk, Texas 75785. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS THURSDAY, June 12, 2008. Citizens unable to attend this meeting may call Fran Wendeborn at (903) 683-2213 to obtain an application form. Special assistance in obtaining application forms is available upon request for persons with disabilities. TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

FUND PROJECT The City of Alto is considering a proposed amendment to its approved 2007 Community Development Fund contract #727009 with the Office of Rural Community Affairs. A public hearing concerning the proposed amendment is scheduled to be held at 5:05 PM on May 19, 2008 at City Hall, 404 W. San Antonio, Alto, Texas. The purpose of the hearing will be to discuss the proposed amendment and solicit citizen input on the proposed change in the scope and location of the City's 2007 TCDP project. All citizens are encouraged to attend this hearing and present their views to the City. City Hall is accessible to the disabled; disabled individuals who might have difficulty attending this public hearing should contact City Hall at the above address to arrange for special assistance. If anyone interested in attending the hearing requires a translator, please contact City Hall prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made. If you cannot attend in person, written comments may be submitted and will be accepted by the City until this public hearing is concluded. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review during normal business hours at the City Hall address listed above.
